My training as a therapist began in the late 1970’s when I worked with children, adolescents, and young adults in various settings in southern California. After this, I ventured to Seattle, where I completed my Masters in Social Work in 1981 while receiving training at Jewish Family Services and Community Psychiatric Clinic. I continued working at CPC with severely mentally ill adults for one year.
In 1982, I began working as an outpatient psychotherapist at Snohomish County Family Counseling Services. Here, I worked with adults, couples, children, and their families. During this time, I also attended Saybrook Institute, where I received my Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 1991.
In 1992, I opened a private practice in the Queen Anne area of Seattle, where I continued my work with adults, adolescents, and families. Ten years later, in 2002, I moved to Winthrop, Washington, and started a private practice. I furthered my education with two certifications in child/adolescent and adult psychotherapy from the Seattle Psychoanalytic Society and Institute in 2008 and 2010, respectively. I continue to see individual adults and adolescents as well as couples and families in my Winthrop practice.
